The Preparation for the 2009 Season is underway
|
January 2009 Ayr, Ontario
Jake and the crew have begun construction of his new 1980 Camaro that will be raced at Delaware Speedway in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series in the Super Stock Division. This decision to make the change came easy as Jake was able to squeeze 3 races into his busy Flamboro Speedway race schedule in 2008.
The people at Delaware were nothing short of amazing and that includes the staff and competitors alike. The track is a very fast 1/2 mile venue with plenty of room too run two or three wide thru the corners. With tops speeds of well over a 100 miles an hour down the straight aways this track was only briefly imtimidating for the 15 year old driver. Jake had no problem rattling the motor off the "chip". His best finish was an admirable 13th place and he was able to stay insight of the leaders with a car that was definately not up too par with it's Delaware counterparts.
The new car will still utilize Jake's trustworthy GM Perfromance Parts 602 Crate engine, will have a 3 speed standard transmission and tube headers to up the horsepower to the rear tires a little. With the increase in speed over his previous track it was felt a stronger and safer car would be in order. The new Camaro named Kaos is being built with safety and better performance in mind, too make sure Jake finishes better and without injury. This will be Jake's first season wearing a HANS device (thank's to J.R Fitzpatrick) and it's probably going to take some getting used too. Learning to master the clutch and not forgetting to hold it in when he spins out is the next level of training for Jake. We bought some serious "oldschool" Stewart Warner gauges on Ebay and these things are huge so monitoring the engine's vital symptoms will be a snap. The transmission was found for us by Dave Geddes at M&A autoparts in Paris. J.R Fitzpatrick was able to help out with a nice Lakewood bellhousing and some other goodies...Thanks again J.R ( http://jrfitzpatrick.com/ ) The cage was supplied by CSC Racing( http://www.cscracing.com/ ) and they did the squaring of the chassis for us making things allot easier. Most of the other parts were supplied by Grisdale (http://www.grisdale.com/ ) or purchased off of Ebay. The build is being completed by James Ott with the help of Steve Jackson, of course Jake Ott and allot of long hours at the shop with Roxie the shop kitty annoying everyone by demanding attention . We will try to keep the website updated as we move along

2006 Jake's Rookie Season
|
AYR Ontario,- The 2008 season for JWO Racing has opened with a bang! With the season only being three race nights old Jake has managed a heat win on May 10th and a Feature Win on May 17th. With all good things however comes a little bad. We have had to spend a few late nights in the shop repairing the car after some wild feature races. The car with all the work we have done to it is performing very well and Jake is driving the car to it's potential.
Work will continue to make progress on the car and the driver
